| | Hello Dr. Powdthavee,
I saw the rather sensationalized version of your research on science daily and I will be quite honest, I have not read the published article (you know how it is in grad school, not much time for leisure reading). I was wondering if, in your study, you examined or controlled for parental choice?
That is, I would imagine that a parent's happiness would be directly related to whether they had wanted and intended to have children. I also imagine there is some degree of dissonance though (e.g. "I wanted children, I have children, therefore I am happy").
I'd love to chat with you, feel free to email me if you find the time. I always find casual discussion of current research much more fun and informative than such structured learning as takes place in class.
